When I was younger, I remember my mother preparing this drink during Summer that we call Refresco de Chan. At the time, the only interest was drinking the juice but it was only a few years later that I found out that it was made with chia.
In the recent years, the chia seed has been classified as a superfood due for its great source of omega-3 fats and fibre.
I still like to add them to juices but I have been loving chia pudding for breakfast or as snack.
Overnight Berry Chia Pudding
Serves: About 2
1 cup Berries (Blueberry, Raspberry or Strawberry)
3/4 cup Water
1/3 cup Honey
1/2 cup Chia seeds
1 // In a blender, place the berries with the water and honey. Blend until smooth and place mixture in large bowl.
2 // While mixing constantly, slowly add the chia seeds. Transfer to a serving bowl or like I do, into a mason jar.
3 // Place in fridge to set overnight.
You can have them as breakfast or for a quick and healthy snack.
