It has been little over three years since I've been conscious about my health. From what I eat to what I do to move my body, I always try to stay healthy. While I might have some down moment, I try to keep my body moving with some yoga or light workouts at home.
When it comes to food, I try to keep it balanced. I do enjoy, once in a while, a slice of gluten-free pizza or french fries, but in a more smaller portion that I used to eat.
With that in mind, you'll find below the six tips I follow to keep me healthy.
one // No fruits after 3 pm
Limiting your fructose intake may help you boost weight lost.
two // Eat 5 to 6 times a day
You must keep your metabolism running. A slower metabolism will make you burn less calorie which will result in weight gain.
three // Drink water
Thirst can disguise itself by hunger. Always reach for water before a snack, you might be dehydrated.
four // Eat protein on every meal
Protein is very important to lose weight. It makes you feel fuller longer and high-protein meal takes more time to digest which helps you burn calories.
five // Try to stay away from carbs, sugar and dairy or reduce them
As a girl who loves bread, candies and milk, this can be quite hard sometimes. When I push myself to stay away from these, I do feel a difference but there might be times when I reach for a few chips or chocolate. The most important thing is to have it moderately.
six // Exercise regularly
Keep your body moving. It keeps it in a healthy weight and can help you prevent diseases. You can take a walk in the evening or a quick workout in your home but make sure to move. You'll feel more energetic, less stressed and sleep better at night.
*Please note that I'm not a nutritionist and these are just tips that have worked for me.
